Well, it's been an exciting year. The sun is just setting, and people are already starting to ring in the new year with fireworks...
I could go on about many things that have gone on throughout the year, but I'll let most of the pictures show you what I've seen. That's what my blog's about...
January
Tailgating at the Packers vs. Vikings playoff game in Green Bay, Wisconsin February
A 'rainforest' at Pinecrest Gardens (former home of the original Parrot Jungle) The Florida Everglades, viewed when flying into Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport in the morning
March
The living chessgame at the Florida Renaissance Festival
A blimp flies low over the beach on Key Biscayne
April
We miss you, Douglas!
May
I don't get charicatures of myself often enough... June
Sometimes I wondered where the heck I was... (here I was in Lynchburg, Va.) July
...and at other times, was happy to see people put their differences aside and know exactly where they were.
The 4th of July on our lake
And I switched coasts and visited sea lions in La Jolla, California.
Finding hidden treasures while Geocaching with Magellan
Fascinating lightning storms in Ft. Meyers Beach, Florida
Co-workers having fun at my expense...
August
A Marlins fan out of water in San Francisco ...but perfectly at home in the base of a California Redwood at the Muir Woods...
...and out of wind after ascending 30 flights of stairs coming back from Point Reyes Lighthouse.
Nature gives one last glimpse at sunset before Hurricane Katrina comes to South Florida...
...and causes some minor damage...
...and some inconveniences.
September
Meeting all sorts of creatures big...and small.
...and helping my father while he recovered from his open heart surgery. Dealing with the people I work with... ...but coming home to something to get me over them.
October
There were highs...
...and...highs...?...
...and "what the hecks?!?"
There was Giotto...
...and the Miami Skyline, before it would be changed by another storm.
The night before Hurricane Wilma slammed South Florida...
...and the day after...
...and the day after that.
There were interesting people to meet... November
...including these two guys, I guess.
Places without blue rooves...
...and those with.
Baked goods...
...and decorated goods.
December
I got to meet distant friends...
...while seeing neat things in distant places...
...but celebrate the most important of days with those I love the most. (I did not turn 40...it was the only candles they had left!)
Nature continued to surprise... ...while those that know how to celebrate nature the most put on an excellent show.
I got to play with friends...
...while spending time with others.
It was a fantastic year here in South Florida...
...and a great end to it as well. The final sunset of 2005 Here's hoping 2006 is better than 2005!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
