Rain rain go away...

...altho the rain does make these flowers come up afterwards. I forget what they're called, but they always come up within a day of rain.

DAVE! DAVE! DAVE! (Another one)

I caught up with Dave Barry at a book signing tonight at the Barnes and Noble in Plantation. Dave was great as ever discussing his book, taking Q&A from the audience, and, of course, discussing other important topics, as shown below...

I did not ask him to elaborate further.

Thanks, Dave!

Indie and Harvey meet...

After Blue, Indie is our other cat. We had been waiting to introduce her and Harvey together, and today we finally had that opportunity. They each took turns sniffing at each other, and seemed fine. We suspected they wouldn't mind one another, and you can see, they seem to have gotten off to a good start!

Remembering...

9/11 has a somewhat different meaning to me. My father-in-law passed away two days beforehand, and I was working on his memorial board when I turned on the TV and saw the news. So I was already grieving when it happened, and this just piled onto it.

Nonetheless, here we are, six years later.

To the victims of 9/11, we miss you. To the heroes of 9/11, thank you for everything you did and continue to do!

No, you fools! Oh, wait, we knew you were fools already.

It's being confirmed that the SciFi channel will be splitting the last year of Battlestar Galactica into two parts, possibly with almost a full year in between parts. The only thing we do not know for sure is how long the gap will be in-between the split.

SciFi channel...you suck. I used to respect you, but you've decimated shows because you don't know how to handle them. Right now, other than BSG, there's nothing on your network I want to watch. I hope you go down in flames once BSG is done.

Happy Birthday, Ben!

Have a great one, buddy! 8)
Wish We Were There!

David! David! David!

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh!

It's almost time for David Gilmour DVD to come out! It's coming out September 18th! And that means the one-day-only live show is coming next weekend to a theater near you! Find out where it's going to be! Get your tickets now! And get your DVD!

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh!

Back home, but the Con CONtinues...

Not really. DragonCon is over, but DragonConTV lives on! If you stayed at any of the hotels hosting DragonCon, they had closed-circuit TV on one channel called, appropriately, DragonconTV. They played bumpers like Adult Swim...

...as well as debuted their first music video...

I have the MP3 on my ipod now. Great tune!

I'll elaborate more later. Maybe.

BTW, Kevin Sorbo is also staying on our floor here at the Marriott.

CONtinuing into the next day...

Okay, today's the first full day of DragonCon for us. Let's see what there is to see...

The rag-tag team of soldiers here to protect us from Aliens...

...and they march off to do battle.

Boba Fett was in attendance...

...as well as some Ghostbusters...

...and the rest of the team.

Lucious Malfoy...

...joined fellow wizard Gandalf the Grey.
Stargate teams moved out...

...while Build Teams from the Mythbusters were ready for action...

...and were ready to provide the action for attendees!

John Delancie...

...was spied by Brent Spiner...

...while Jonathan Frake peered over his glasses...

...at the very beautiful Gates McFadden...

...while my arm got in between Brent and my camera...

...so he posed for another photo for me...

...while Gates...

...and Johnathan continued to visit with their fans.

Strangely, Erik Estrada was there...

...while this Tusken Raider seemed to fit in more readily.

SPARTANS!!!!

But Leia was a bit more scary.

Hogwarts students skipped class...

...as well as many others.

Darth Brooks sang his evil songs...

...spawning creatures to appear out of nowhere.

Cardboard Vader checked the people coming into the hotel...

...and Disney Villains still made it in.

Chewie! And Han!

Chewie!!!! And...Peter Mayhew?!? Um, I thought Peter Mayhew played Chewie...er...um...

Hi, Jamie (Bamber)! Keep up the great work on BSG!

And Aaron, keep the Chief Tyrel real...even if you may be a Cylon.

Richard Hatch called my attention to her, when he exclaimed "Now THAT is HOT!"

Feedback laughed...

...Major Victory hung out...

...and Fat Momma kept things moving along.

Amidala had a personal guard detail...

Spidey didn't need one.

Witches everywhere...

...as well as R2 units...

Rocketeers...

...and pilot...eers.
?????

...???? !!!!!

Calypso from Pirates of the Caribbean...

...hung out with Barf.

Uh-oh. The rag-tag team missed the Alien...but Predator is here to save the day.

One of the emergency...entrances.

The dealer room.

Must get large monitor to play video games...

The spaghetti monster...which, in my opinion, has a large pair of balls...

And some other attendees that, well, one of which likely doesn't.

More soldiers...

...and Silent Bob.

Jack Skellington!

Fred and George Weasley!

And Neville Longbottom (who is staying on our floor of the hotel!)...
Nichelle Nichols. Always a class act.

These guys were waiting for a runner on my floor...

...while Darth Maul waited below.

Bikini Leia #42376.

Michael Shanks proposes to the audience in front of other Stargate SG1/Atlantis stars...

DragonCon logo projection...
...right near Emperor Palpatine and Vader.

So that's it for the day. But then again, there's a couple hours left. The night is young!
