Someone needs to put the lizards on a diet...

I've begun to notice a new species of lizard in South Florida over the last couple of years. We have our usual geckos...but these new ones are different. They're 'chubby', and they curl their tail straight up, whereas a gecko is usually thin overall and it's tail just sits straight behind it.

Today, I managed to wrangle one of these new ones down...

You can probably guess that he wasn't too thrilled with his predicament...

After I let him go, here's how well he blends in with his normal environment...

Here I'm looking down from above, and his tail is curled up.

I'd love to know more about this species, and why I'm noticing it more frequently down here...I don't think it's native...
