Live, from Floyd's house...it's Hurricane Wilma!

Okay...updates as to the storm situation.

Shutters are closed, and I finally setup an external video camera outside so that we can see the conditions. The picture quality ain't great...but it is what it is.
That camera isn't going to work at night...won't be enough light...but the storm isn't supposed to really come through until tomorrow morning, and last for about 5-6 hours.

This is looking north, so this is on the sheltered side of the house. All the winds will be coming from the south and west as the storm moves through. Normally, if it were a 'direct hit' scenario (storm comes at us from the Atlantic side of the state), the winds would be from the east and north.

We're currently under a flood watch (it's still sunny out...no rain today...yet...), and the Keys were just put under a tornado watch (they are starting to get the outer bands of the storm now). We'll likely be placed under a tornado watch later today as the bands get closer to us.

Next major hurricane update is at 5pm, although the updates usually come through about 15 minutes before each one.

That's all for now. I'll keep blogging until I go to sleep...and don't know what the situation will be like when I wake up (in terms of power and DSL availability). Again, never fear! As I indicated earlier, I always have my backup blogging system...and its backup!
