Whales, dolphins and sharks, OH MY!

Sea World Orlando!

Tomorrow is the wife's birthday, and she wanted to get out of town and go do something fun. And we DID have fun!

The dolphin nursery pool. Here one of the adult dolphins is trying to teach a young 'un how to get themselves up out of the water. It's really fascinating how they teach each other and the social interaction between them.

The Shamu show, with one of the killer whales lifting...well...shooting one of the trainers out of the water.

Here's Shamu. Wow. That's one BIG whale. Wow. Over 22 feet in length. I fergit how many tons. Wow.

That's real...and was really above our heads!

Y'know...sea lion breath mixed with frozen fish smell...just ain't all it's cracked up to be. On the other hand, it was really fun to hand-feed this guy. He could grab the fish out of my hand if I stretched a bit.

Another real photo...of the girls and the wife looking up at the manatees.

A diver is cleaning the dolphin tank, and the dolphins loved playing with the hose. They were batting it, biting at it, making it go under water, jumping over it, swimming all around it. It was a giant toy to them. Must make cleaning the tank a real pain the butt.

Near the end of the day, and everyone is waving goodbye!
